A brand-new medical centre was commissioned for the parish town of Langwith, Derbyshire, to provide much needed space and access to a wider range of NHS services. The new centre promised to offer a broad range of treatments, bringing community nursing together with a range of therapists and specialist services as well as access to GPs.
Due to local problems with anti-social behaviour, it was set out in the plans that a secure permitter should be provided around the building site to deter any scenes of unauthorised access, theft or vandalism. We were approached by Barkers Fencing, a Systems Manufacturer with over forty years of expertise in designing, manufacturing and delivering high-security fencing. They needed a panel that could be used in an LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) accredited system.
Based on these requirements from Barkers Fencing a single skin 358 mesh panel was chosen for the LPS1175 A1 (SR1) accredited system. This system utilises a single layer of mesh on both the fence and gates, meaning the CCTV has a full view of the whole site whilst maintaining the necessary strength and integrity needed to provide the required level of resistance.
358 panels offer superior protection against cutting or climbing, thanks to the wire diameter and small apertures.
We supplied the panels that were then used by Barkers on a fully accredited fencing system that meets all of the necessary LCPB security criteria as well as integrating seamlessly with the surrounding environment. The panels were supplied pre-Galvanised providing much needed corrosion resistance. In total over 200m of 358 fence panels were provided in line with the project timescales to safeguard the build site and car park.
