The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is a UK charitable organisation devoted to making Britain a greener place by sharing gardening expertise and creating awareness of how horticulture can better our lives. In 2019, RHS began work on its fifth garden, located in the historic lost grounds of Worsley New Hall in Salford, Greater Manchester.
As an organisation that relies on public goodwill, site security was front of mind for RHS to keep visitors safe as well as to protect the grounds and section off areas needed for staff to work. A discreet and flexible fencing solution was needed to help manage crowds, contain guests in the appropriate areas, restrict access where needed and ensure visitors are guided through the attraction in a structured way.

It was important to RHS that the new fencing system was unimposing, sympathetic to the environment and seen as being integral to the experience of visiting the grounds. To achieve this, a durable 3D Profile Mesh System was selected to partition the Welcome Building area. This system is made from galvanised steel, making it strong and sturdy whilst the panel design ensures it is aesthetically pleasing. To ensure it was suitable for all terrains, including anchoring on uneven land, extra-long posts were supplied for a hassle-free installation.
The system manufactured by Barkers blends in well with the surrounding environment and ensures that year after year, visitors to the site will be safely and considerately guided around the site.
