A large industrial mesh customer contacted Siddall & Hilton to enquire whether we could make large quantities of industrial mesh on a regular basis. The mesh would be used by the customer to make racking, lockers, display units, and other similar goods. Orders would need to be received monthly on time and to the highest standard. As the fabricator had their own orders to fulfil and did not want disruptions to the supply chain.
We worked closely with the fabricator to understand specific needs and requirements. The sizes of industrial mesh could change monthly so had to be prepared for the eventuality. With our recent investment into state-of-the-art robotics, we were confident we could fulfil the needs of the customer on a consistent basis. To reach our goal of becoming a world-class manufacturer we understand automation plays a large role in driving our efficiencies, ensuring on-time delivery, and strengthening our customer relations.
Throughout manufacturing, rigorous quality checks were performed to guarantee that the equipment could manufacture the large order with minimal downtime and that the completed product was of the highest quality.
Dealing with such a large customer can be challenging for any business, but our investment in robotics has made a significant difference and is only the beginning. The fabricator was delighted with the level of service and product quality, and they continue to place orders on regular basis. We will continue to invest in machinery and processes to drive efficiency and product quality.
H.A.M.P (Half A Million Pounds)
Our new five-axis robot ‘picks and places’ the mesh after welding and automatically stacks it onto a pallet; once the pallet is fully assembled, it is automatically transferred to an in-line automatic banding machine where edge protection is applied and the product banded, presenting a complete pallet/package at the end of the production line for either warehouse or dispatch.
